Creating a Human Library Day

Encourage students to interact and learn from those they might not normally interact with by creating a Human Library®. In this exercise, students become "books" that others can "check out" for 15-minute conversations. Each student prepares a personal story or area of expertise to share, encouraging face-to-face storytelling and genuine connection while learning about their classmates' diverse experiences and interests.

These human “books” can represent people that are often subjected to prejudice, stigmatization or discrimination because of their lifestyle, diagnosis, belief, disability, social status, ethnic origin etc. Check out the official Human Library® website to learn more!
