Dear NDU Ambassador,

We are happy you are here!! Signing on as an ambassador shows that you care about elevating human connection over digital engagement and you want the place where you live and work to become one of the “Best Unplugged Cities” in the world. Below are answers to some questions you might have. If there are other questions, feel free to reach out info@nationaldayofunplugging.com

What does it mean to be a NDU Ambassador?

You are willing to organize your own event or program PLUS you agree to get others involved with National Day of Unplugging events or programs.

The more the merrier!!

What will you get for being an ambassador?

  • Recognition for donating your time and energy to the life/tech balance movement. Your name and photo will be listed on the National Day of Unplugging Ambassadors web page.

  • Chance to win prizes, work with our national partners and brand sponsors

  • An NDU Ambassador Welcome Kit with cell phone sleeping bags and other unplugging goodies for your participants and the chance to order more free resources any time of year

What’s the timeline?

Below is a general idea of how the months leading up to National Day of Unplugging 2021 will be focused.

November: Get familiar with the NDU website. Review the Ambassador Handbook and Guide to Gathering (IRL or Virtual). It’s time to begin outreach to others in your community to ask them to join you in getting your town to unplug.

December: Our NDU team will reach out and support you in deciding on the target audience (young families, teens, adults etc) and selecting the type of event you want to coordinate (IRL or virtual).

January: Start spreading the word about your event and coordinate with other local NDU event/program organizers.

February: it’s almost time! Finalize details on your event and start promoting. Reach out to other NDU organizers in your area to see if they need support.

March: Curtains up. Phones down. Enjoy the feeling of seeing your friends, family and community gain benefits from their time unplugged. After the big day, you will be asked to debrief about your experience.

What’s the time commitment?

It’s your choice. You can spend a minimal amount of time designing an event for your circle of friends or go big and help other organizations in your city plan programs/events.

We will offer 1-2 virtual meetings (60 min max) sometime between November and February so you can share ideas with other ambassadors all over the world. These meetings will be optional.
