Create a rock garden
Bring meaning and beauty to your neighborhood.
The Unplug Collaborative is proud to partner with the The Kindness Rocks Project™. Join us by painting a kind message on a rock because "One message at just the right moment can change someone's entire day, outlook or life" including YOURS!
Painting rocks is a therapeutic and mindful activity. Plan a time to organize a group to decorate rocks. Gather art supplies (brushes, acrylic paint, paint pens, Mod Podge) at craft stores or see link below. You can buy rocks in bulk at Home Depot or a craft store, or if you find some in nature, wash and let them dry before painting. If you have a group and limited time, paint the base color of the rocks earlier so they can dry. Write fun, commemorative or inspirational words. Help us get more people to unplug by writing #GDU somewhere on your rock or print and use these labels and signs. You can use Mod Podge or a sealant on your rocks afterwards to apply the labels and make the design last longer. When you are done you can bring decorated rocks to a senior center, park or school to create a commemorative rock garden.
