Hide a rock
Kids love creating things and surprises. Let them do both with this fun activity.
Join the Kindness Rocks Project™ and paint a kind message on a rock because "One message at just the right moment can change someone's entire day, outlook or life" including YOURS!
Plan to paint your own rocks or as an individual or organize a group. Gather art supplies (brushes, acrylic paint, paint pens, Mod Podge) at craft stores or see link below. You can buy rocks in bulk at Home Depot or a craft store, or if you find some in nature, wash and let them dry before painting. If you have a group and limited time, paint the base color of the rocks earlier so they can dry. For young ones, they may want to just paint pictures. Older kids and adults can write fun, commemorative or inspirational words with the paint pens. Help us get more people to unplug by writing #GDU2023 somewhere on your rock or print and use these labels. Make sure to use Mod Podge or a sealant on your rocks afterwards. When you are done you can hide your decorated rocks in the yard, a park, or throughout the neighborhood.
